Ahmed Mohammed is a truly inspiring individual who arrived in the UK as an unaccompanied asylum-seeker from Nigeria at the age of 14 in 2010. Following a period of homelessness, he was eventually taken into care, an experience he believes truly shaped who he is today. Since then he has become a qualified youth mental health instructor, he also works with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation as an employment adviser, and is the CEO/founder of his own organisation You Vs You. The company supports young people, including refugees and asylum seekers to develop their personal and interpersonal skills through mentoring and workshops. Ahmed is determined, focused and people orientated. What drives him is the desire to give back to his community and the opportunity to support those that need it. In all that he does, Ahmed’s care for others is clear. His emphasis on our common humanity, no matter where we may be from, is summarised simply in his one-line statement - we are all from one source.
