MARÊ: BARISTA

Marê Noga was born in Gonder, Ethiopia. Years after her father and older sister relocated, or made Aliyah, from Ethiopia to Israel, she followed them together with her mother and little brother. Soon after their reunion, Marê mandatorily served in the Israeli Defence Force. For a few years she lived in a small Kibbutz by the Dead Sea, before moving to the United States. Nowadays she lives in New York City together with her son Yahlee, and works as a barista in Harlem. Visiting art exhibitions is her favourite distraction from the daily routine in the American metropolis.
